CATIA V5 training: build your CAD foundations.

A proposed practical learning track for engineering students, diploma holders and early-career designers. Start with sketches and solid models, then connect your work to assemblies and engineering drawings.

Before you start

Find the right starting level.

Suitable for beginners. Familiarity with engineering drawings is helpful; tell us your background so we can advise on the starting level.

Module 1

CATIA workspace and Sketcher

Navigate the interface, create sketches and understand geometric and dimensional constraints.

Module 2

Part Design

Practise solid-modelling features, edit parameters and organise a model so changes remain understandable.

Module 3

Assembly Design

Place components, explore assembly constraints and understand how parts relate to each other.

Module 4

Drafting and guided practice

Create basic drawing views and dimensions, then review a small part-and-assembly exercise.

Learning goal

Build work you can explain.

Work towards a small CAD exercise you can explain: the design intent, modelling steps and changes made after feedback.

The pilot is being planned. Teaching format, duration, schedule, fees, software arrangements and any completion certificate will be confirmed before enrolment.
